Retail giant Frasers Group is looking to build a 3.5 million ft2 headquarters and logistics campus in the West Midlands.
It is looking to submit plans for a 277-acre site at Junction 2 of the M6 motorway near the village of Ansty near Coventry.
The campus would be composed of head office and distribution/warehouse facilities, concept retail Research & Development, accommodation onsite including a hotel and halls of residence, supplier offices as well as sporting and recreation facilities, and a helipad. There will also be substantial landscaping and ecological enhancements.
Frasers Group has a big portfolio of well-known brands, including Sports Direct, House of Fraser, GAME, Jack Wills, Sofa.com, Evans Cycles, and Everlast. The architect for the proposed campus is Grimshaw, which designed the Eden Project
A public consultation has been launched in advance of a planning application being submitted to Rugby Council.
The campus would see five warehouses totalling 2.7 million ft2 in units from 250,000ft2 to 1.2 million ft2 with the remaining 220,000ft2 space dedicated to offices, retail and leisure facilities.
The warehouses will reach up to 25m in height and the headquarters and hotel buildings may reach up to 28m in height. An energy centre is also proposed to be included in the Development.
Subject to the grant of planning permission, construction of the Development could potentially commence in 2023. Construction of the Development could be complete by the end of 2029.
