Harworth Group has submitted plans for one million plus sq ft industrial and logistics space on a site just off Junction 36 or the M1 motorway in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.
The 95-acre site represents the second and third phases of the Gateway 36 development.
The proposals are for up to 1.1 million sq ft of space for business, general industrial, and storage and distribution space. The proposal also includes associated internal access roads, landscaping and drainage.
It is anticipated that the proposed units will typically have a 10 per cent first floor office accommodation and as a whole will achieve a BREEAM rating of Very Good, this sets a precedent for the future detailed design to follow.
It is expected that the proposals will generate 2,500 jobs.
