Sterling Capitol has submitted proposals for a 1.1 m sq ft extension of its Capitol Park Leeds scheme near Junction 28 of the M62 motorway, in West Yorkshire.
The masterplan for the 95-acre site envisages five warehouses built ranging from 42,000 – 530,000 sq ft with eaves heights up to 18m.
It has been estimated that the development would support the creation of about 2,000 plus jobs
If approved, work could start on site in mid-2022, with completion potentially by mid-2025.
The development would form an extension to Sterling Capitol’s Capitol Park Leeds scheme, which is home to occupiers including Barratt Homes, Hermes and NHS Shared Business Services.
The scheme is being brought forward in conjunction with PLP
Mike Heydecke, director of Sterling Capitol said: “We have worked hard to prepare the Leeds site for planning and PLP will drive the development forward, building high-spec industrial and logistics units which will attract quality occupiers. We are also looking forward to working with PLP on future projects across the north.
Keith Wilson, Development Director of PLP added “We now look forward to developing out new prime industrial and logistics facilities at Capitol Park Leeds and in keeping with PLP’s sustainability commitment, all new speculative buildings here will be delivered to carbon net zero standard which is already proving a key attraction for occupiers.”
