Supply Chain Excellence Award winners Primark and Heineken will talk operational strategy at the Supply Chain Conference which will be held on 19 – 20 March at 8 Eastcheap, Monument.
Primark was overall Award winner in 2010 for its innovative approach to retail supply chain. The man behind that strategy, Martin White, will be speaking at the conference on the subject: “The crazy world of retail – how can logistics teams not only survive but thrive?”
He will look at how the retail revolution keeps getting faster and even less predictable. He will argue that the logisticians’ agenda gets more complex, but our core skills make us ideal to not just influence but to define future retail.
In 2018, Heineken took the Supply Chain Excellence Award for Demand Forecasting and Planning and at the conference Derek Johnson, on trade statistical forecasting manager, will explain how it manages the impact of weather on demand for beer and cider.
The company has analysed years of weather history mapping out the variations against fluctuations in demand. Johnson will explain how Heineken is able to produce ‘weather neutral” demand forecasts.
