Yodel has brought in Adrian Harris from Marks & Spencer to take on the role of operations director.
He is tasked with leading the strategic rebalancing of Yodel’s network to increase levels of service and efficiency.
Harris most recently held the role of director of clothing and home logistics at M&S covering both distribution stores and e-commerce fulfilment to customers.
Prior to this, Harris worked for Amazon as director of Amazon Logistics (China) and Tesco and Home Retail Group in a range of ecommerce fulfilment, retail supply chain and retail logistics roles in both the UK and China.
Yodel has also appointed Lucy Robertson director of sort and transport, reporting into Harris. She was previously head of UK external fulfilment at Amazon. She was also General Manager for Argos, where she headed up some of their largest distribution centres. Together Robertson and Harris will develop and implement strategies to deliver significant business benefits.
Mike Watkins, who joined Yodel in September last year, has moved into the newly created role of director of operational planning, from interim director of sort and transport through the Christmas peak season. He will be responsible for end-to-end operational planning.
Yodel chief executive Mike Cooper said: “As well as investing in our IT systems and innovative technology to streamline the business, we are also investing in talented people to drive our key objective of providing great, consistent, service to our clients and their customers.”
