An agreement has been finalised between global logistics company Mediterranean Shipping Company and the Bolloré Group over the sale of Bolloré Africa Logistics, a year after the initial announcement of the acquisition.
Estimated to be valued at €5.7 billion, Bolloré Africa comprises all of the wider group’s transport and logistics activities in Africa.
The sale has gone through earlier than expected, with Bolloré originally anticipating that the deal would not be fully completed until the end of the first quarter of 2023, pending approval by regulatory bodies.
The Bolloré Group says it ‘will remain strongly involved in Africa, notably through Canal+, and will also continue to develop on this continent its activities in numerous sectors such as communications, entertainment, telecommunications and publishing’.
