Wincanton has renewed its contract with Müller for the collection and delivery of milk products for a further three years.
The deal will see Wincanton continue to collect more than 700 million litres of milk each year – equal to one-fifth of all milk produced in Great Britain – from over 450 farms across the south of England and Wales for onward delivery to Müller’s dairies in Bridgwater, Droitwich, Severnside and Market Drayton.
Rob Hutchison, operations director at Müller Milk and Ingredients, said Wincanton was a proven long-term partner that had “consistently provided an excellent service and the flexibility to meet our requirements”.
Chris Fenton, MD of Industrial and Transport at Wincanton, said: “This contract allows us to extend our close relationship with Müller – a relationship built upon Wincanton’s ability to deliver a safe, effective and timely service to both Müller and its farm partners.
“Working closely with Müller, we’ve implemented an innovative redesign of the operation tailored directly to its needs. This will provide a greater reliability and service performance for the farming community, the foundation of the dairy industry.”
