SEGRO, an industrial space developer, and St George, recognised for its mixed-use developments, celebrated the completion of SEGRO V-Park Grand Union, a multi-storey industrial development nestled within the Grand Union neighbourhood in Alperton, North West London.
The inauguration event was attended by local dignitaries including the cabinet member for regeneration, planning and growth for Brent Council, Councillor Shama Tatler.
The six-storey SEGRO V-Park Grand Union spans 134,500ft2 and is situated on 1.7 acres within the 22-acre Grand Union precinct. The development is designed to maximise employment space in land-constrained urban areas, aligning with the ambitious goals outlined in the new London Plan to intensify industrial land use.
Expected to generate up to 250 jobs and apprenticeships upon full occupancy, SEGRO V-Park Grand Union is designed to accommodate the evolving needs of modern businesses as well as offer a range of unit sizes across its four upper levels, each equipped with cutting-edge amenities aimed at fostering a dynamic and collaborative work environment. From dedicated social and workspaces to a rooftop terrace, the facility reportedly aims to prioritise the wellbeing and productivity of its occupants.
Moreover, SEGRO V-Park Grand Union has incorporated energy-saving measures throughout its construction and lifecycle. With features such as BREEAM Excellent certification, electric vehicle charging points, photovoltaic cells and an internal green wall, the development looks to underscore both SEGRO’s commitment to low-carbon growth and St George’s Our Vision 2030 Strategy, which prioritises positive societal and environmental impact.
Claire Hammond, land director at St George Plc, emphasised: “Grand Union is an impressive example of what can be achieved in a relatively short period of time when public and private partners work collaboratively together.”
Councillor Shama Tatler hailed the Grand Union development as a catalyst for transformation. She said: “The Grand Union development is transforming under-utilised industrial land into a thriving neighbourhood bursting with opportunity. It has already delivered more than 400 new homes, a beautiful canal-side piazza and an impressive new community centre. Today, we are delighted to mark the completion of SEGRO V-Park Grand Union. On just a small plot of land this pioneering multi-storey development will provide 134,500ft2 of high-quality industrial space and create up to 250 jobs for local people.”
Situated in Park Royal, one of London’s central industrial zones, SEGRO V-Park Grand Union enjoys prime access to key transportation arteries, including the North Circular, M1 and M25.
