Manufacturer of very narrow aisle (VNA) forklift trucks Narrow Aisle Ltd has diversified its product portfolio by beginning to offer storage solutions.
The company now has a department dedicated to storage solutions and warehouse planning. Through this department, it aims to provide “a complete turnkey package from design through to the supply and installation of a full range of storage equipment including pallet racking, shelving, sprinklers, mezzanine flooring etc”.
These solutions are designed to make the most of warehousing space and boost efficiency.
Paul MacBeath, who joined Narrow Aisle as the Head of Storage Solutions, said: “Narrow Aisle now offers a range of warehouse design and implementation services that will develop the best possible solution to meet the unique needs of each application.
“Across the country there is a huge number of warehouse buildings that are no longer fit for purpose due to the extensive changes in the retail market and the economy in general. Often the unit’s original role has changed completely and, as a result, the storage system is no longer as efficient as it could be.
“By redesigning the facility’s layout and introducing new materials handling technology we give an existing warehouse a whole new lease of life. In many cases this will mean the client can avoid the expense and disruption to the business of moving to a new building or outsourcing part or all their storage operation to a third party.”
Narrow Aisle’s Managing Director Donald Houston added: “Modern warehousing is all about maximising whatever space you have available and offering a complete service from planning through to supply and installation of storage equipment means we can help warehouse operators get the most out of a new building or make real operational improvements to an existing facility.”
