Transport for the North has appointed Barry White as its new chief executive.
“I am thrilled to join Transport for the North at such a busy and exciting time for the organisation, and indeed the North as a whole,” said White. “On my first day in post, 10 January, the House of Commons voted overwhelmingly in favour of Transport for the North becoming the first Sub-national Transport Body.
“This support endorses Transport for the North’s vision of a thriving North of England, where modern transport connections drive economic growth and support an excellent quality of life.”
