Morrisons has appointed Mark Harrison group supply chain and projects director. He moves from his previous role of group manufacturing director.
Harrison will take responsibility for supply chain at board level and lead major projects to improve efficiency.
Chairman Andy Higginson said: “Mark has done an exceptional job in quickly developing our manufacturing capability to produce more of our fresh food from our own factories. Mark will now be working on important projects, such as improving our stock and cash management.”
Neal Austin continues to have board responsibility for logistics and transport, along with strategic end-to-end initiatives such as the introduction of a sales-based ordering system.
Andrew Thornber has become manufacturing managing director. Thornber will take up day-to-day responsibility for the manufacturing business, reporting into group trading director Casper Meijer.
