Norbert Dentressangle plans to recruit 100 apprentices this year in a relaunched scheme with increased rates of pay and introduction of dedicated apprentice development programmes.
Since the launch of its first scheme in September 2013 it has recruited 170 apprentices. Every apprentice is guaranteed a job at the end of the scheme.
“We couldn’t be more pleased with how the scheme has worked, with overwhelmingly positive feedback from our sites, customers and the apprentices themselves,” said learning and development manager Chris Dolby.
Dentressangle will also be increasing its focus on local school and community engagement to raise awareness of employment and career opportunities in the logistics industry.
It currently offers a number of different opportunities for apprentices to earn while they learn, leading to: NVQ Level 2 qualifications in either Storage & Warehousing, Traffic Office, Customer Services or Business Administration; or NVQ Level 3 qualifications in Finance, HGV Fitters, Driving Goods Vehicle, IT.
