Online retailer Ocado is planning to build a new customer fulfilment centre at Eurocentral, just outside Motherwell in Scotland.
A planning application has been submitted to North Lanarkshire Council for a facility totalling 312,153ft2 with adjoining two storey offices employing up to 1,700 people in roles such as drivers, warehouse operatives,
office and administration staff and management positions, with full training and skills development opportunities provided;
Ocado said the CFC will service its online grocery operation, including warehousing of goods, ‘picking’ of products and deliveries to customers
The development is to achieve 15% energy for the development from decentralised or low carbon sources, and will achieve a minimum BREEAM rating of ‘Very Good’.
The 20-acre site is positioned to the South of the M8, accessed from junction 7, with arterial roads providing the link from the motorway along Condor Glen.
