Trade union Usdaw has warned that a significant number of staff at Ocado’s Andover site are at risk of redundancy following the fire in February.
The union’s national officer Daniel Adams said: “The company tell us that they have been trying to find a suitable alternative site in the Andover area, without success, and they now face a two-year rebuild to replace the burnt-out facility, so they are proposing to place a significant number of the customer fulfilment centre staff at risk of redundancy.
“Full and meaningful consultations are on-going with the company, with a view to minimising redundancies and mitigating their impact.”
