Ocado has stopped its home deliveries due to a significantly increased amount of orders, from people stockpiling for the coronavirus.
In a statement, Melanie Smith, chief executive of Ocado Retail, said that the company had made the “decision to temporarily suspend access to Ocado.com for a few days in order to make some changes to [its] service.”
Smith added that the company will be delivering to 170,000 households over the next four days, and that changes to deliveries cannot be made now, as drivers will arrive at their original expected time.
Customers will be able to access the website from Saturday.
