Only three per cent of UK retailers are able to make a profit while fulfilling omni-channel demand, finds a survey commissioned by JDA.
The research also found that globally, only ten per cent of those surveyed were making a profit when fulfilling omni-channel demand. In the global market, only 12 per cent (down from 19 per cent in 2014) felt they are providing a seamless shopping experience across the channels.
As well as this, the survey found that 85 per cent of UK retailers (74 per cent of global retailers) think that returns are impacting profits to some extent.
The research found that 69 per cent of executives are planning to up investment in digital technologies to improve customer experience.
