Palletways has opened a new regional hub in Montpellier, South of France, and expanded its facilities in Spain and Italy. The express palletised freight network has introduced the Montpellier site to upgrade existing services in Paris.
Investment in the expansion of hubs in Zaragoza, Spain, and Milan, Italy will support the handling of international consignments and improve international services to and from locations around Milan and Barcelona.
“The establishment of three new international hubs in the region, which can manage in-bound and outbound volumes across our pan European network faster and more efficiently than before, will present significant growth opportunities for the Group,” said Rachael Alpha, managing director at Palletways GmBH.
Palletways have also recently invested in a €10m hub operation in Central Germany, and last year spent €1.4m on the pan European network.
“Our European network has experienced significant and continuous growth over the last decade, which has enabled us to grow organically,” said James Wilson, chief executive of Palletways group. “This year alone we’ve added six new countries to our network, including Poland, Romania, Bulgaria and the Baltics. We are also investing in award winning IT systems and enhanced infrastructure to offer the best service possible for our members and customers.”
