Panther Warehousing has invested £3 million in a new fleet including 26 7.5 tonners, four 18 tonners and ten artics – as well as 75 SDC trailers and an additional 50 new Luton and panel vans, which are more suited to the two-man service.
The investment comes on the back of Panther’s relocation to a new cross dock facility in Northampton. The new site at Lodge Farm Industrial Estate is more than three times the size of the company’s previous home at Crick, a 165,000 sq ft site.
Managing director Colin McCarthy said: “As the majority of our customers require the delivery of heavy and often fragile goods this represents a significant investment which will improve our service to them and better equip our two-man delivery teams.”
