UK startup Parcelly has launched ‘Parcelly Agent’, a service which enables ‘trusted neighbours’ to act as parcel collection points.
The service is designed for more rural areas that lack local parcel collection points. It is aimed at ‘trusted neighbours who are already accepting parcels on a regular basis’.
The company said that by adding Parcelly Agents to their wide network of locations, customers and delivery drivers would have less distance to travel.
The service incorporates a smartphone-based app.
Sebastian Steinhouser, Parcelly’s CEO and founder, said: “Parcelly Agent is a natural extension of our sharing economy based model and will further drive customer control and convenience”.
