Pentalver is to develop a permanent container depot at DP World London Gateway.
The operator, which is part of AP Moeller-Maersk, has been providing empty storage, dry repair and reefer services at a temporary site at the port since April.
The purpose-build facility on a five-acre site is due to open in April offering a range of services to vessels discharging at the port including cargo handling, transport, loaded storage, empty storage, reefer services, maintenance and container refurbishment.
A second phase will expand the facility to nine acres within the first five years.
Managing director Chris Lawrenson said: “The new operation will bolster the services we offer at our existing dockside depots and we are delighted to be playing a significant role in the future plans of the UK’s newest port.”
