Peter Ward is to take over as chief executive of the UK Warehousing Association from Roger Williams in mid-January.
Until recently Ward was commercial director and head of cargo supply chain at London Gateway. He has more than 30 years’ experience in international transport and logistics.
He was managing director of his family freight forwarding company, DH Ward (Shipping) Ltd, before masterminding a merger with American-owned Fritz Companies, in 1994.
More recently Ward was director Europe of P&O Nedlloyd Logistics, and managing director of the International Supply Chain division at Wincanton Group.

He is a man of considerable logistics experience gained in a variety of disciplines, and will greatly enhance the UKWA team.
