PLP has appointed Glencar Construction to develop ‘big box’ Crewe 460 logistics unit on the final phase of PLP’s prime employment park at Basford West in Crewe.
Crewe 460 will have 15m clear height warehouse, three-storey external offices of more than 30,000ft2, separately accessed car park with 442 spaces and a secure, gatehouse access-controlled service yard up to 72m deep.
Crewe 460 will be constructed in accordance with the UK Green Building Council Carbon Net Zero standard. The design has been developed to minimise embodied carbon during construction. It also includes numerous measures to allow the end user to transition affordably to a carbon ‘net zero’ operation, including solar photovoltaics, air source heating and cooling, LED lighting, and electric car charging points.
“Crewe 460 will be a prime, high spec logistics facility in a well-established employment location with excellent links to the motorway network. In fact, it will be the largest spec unit currently under construction along the M6 corridor throughout the whole region and I have no doubt that it will appeal to a wide range of blue-chip occupiers,” said Keith Wilson, Development Director at PLP.
Knight Frank and Cushman & Wakefield are appointed as leasing agents for Crewe 460.
