P&O Ferrymasters has taken up occupancy at a 231,000 sq ft distribution centre at DP World London Gateway Logistics Park LG231.
P&O has moved in immediately to manage and operate the new distribution centre, after securing the five-year lease.
The focus of the facility is FMCG and food and beverage, and FMGC industries but P&O said it was also suitable for any vertical industry.
Mark Mulder, director contract logistics at P&O Ferrymasters said: “This additional new warehouse capacity at London Gateway marks an important additional step in our plans to enable trade flows across Europe.
“This new facility will provide the operational flexibility and capacity our customers need to ensure their supply chains are becoming even more efficient and effective with direct access to a central hub linking rail, road, deep sea and short sea.”
Oliver Treneman, park development director at DP World London Gateway, added: “LG 231 is the ideal location for P&O Ferrymasters to grow over the long term as DP World London Gateway has the capacity, when complete, to be the largest integrated port and logistics park in Europe.
“Together we can offer unrivalled service for customers and possess the potential to radically impact the whole supply chain and enable the smarter flow of trade.”
