KP Snacks could be facing a crisp shortage after a cyber attack on its supply chain.
A letter seen by betterRetailing sent by Nisa to partnered stores on 1st February, told local stores to “expect supply issues on base stock and promotions until further notice.”
The hack could mean that top brands such as Pom Bears, Butterkist, Hula Hoops, Space Raiders, and more could be under threat.
In a response to the attack, a KP Snacks spokesperson said: “On Friday, 28 January we became aware that we were unfortunately victims of a ransomware incident. As soon as we became aware of the incident, we enacted our cybersecurity response plan and engaged a leading forensic information technology firm and legal counsel to assist us in our investigation.”
Adding, the spokesperson confirmed that the company’s internal IT teams are working with “third-party experts” to keep “suppliers, customers, and colleagues informed of any developments.”
