PostNL, the Dutch postal operator, has ended negotiations with bpost, the Belgian post service, that would have left to a combination of the two companies through a friendly public offer by bpost on all shares of PostNL.
It said that these negotiations “have, in the end, not led to agreement on the terms of such a transaction”.
PostNL delivers 500,000 parcels and 10 million letters a day across the Netherlands and employs 49,000 people. Bpost handles 9.1 million letters and 126,000 parcels a day.
