Waberer’s International, the Hungarian trucking group, saw EBITDA rise 15.3 per cent to €37.6m in the first half of 2015 compared to a year ago, while sales were up eight per cent to €261m.
The company, which opened a facility is Felixstowe last year, said the improvement was due to its focus on efficiency and operational optimisation – despite the increasing competition on the international freight market and new laws and regulations enacted in Europe which implicate certain restrictions with regard to international freight operators.
Waberer’s increased its fleet size by 5.3 per cent in the first half of 2015 compared with the same period in 2014 to more than 3,400 truck-trailers.
The loaded ratio of the fleet improved, reaching 91.5 per cent for the first half of 2015, which the company reckons exceeds the European industry average. In the spring of 2015 Waberer’s Italia started operations in Milan.
