Developer appointed for 2.3 million sq ft warehouse scheme in Suffolk
Gateway 14 Ltd, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Mid Suffolk Council. A planning application will be submitted by the end of 2020, to enable a phased development on the site. It is hoped that the first buildings could be available in 2021/2.
The masterplan layout is still being developed, and could accommodate logistics buildings up to 1,000,000 sq ft, with roadside uses alongside the A14 frontage, and headquarters office/R&D campus style buildings.
The A14 corridor is one of the principal trunk routes for UK logistics offering access from the Port of Felixstowe into the heart of the UK and it is also a primary route for export to European and world markets. The site is 26 miles from the Port of Felixstowe, 12.5 miles to Ipswich and the A12, and 45 miles to M11 and links to Cambridge.
