Ryder has appointed Simon Ranner as UK operations director reporting to David Hunt, vice president and managing director, Ryder Europe.
Ranner will be responsible for Ryder’s UK network of 29 locations, as well as its engineering and Fleetcare operations.
He has held senior roles in commercial transport and 3PL distribution for leading organisations including Theo Paphitis Retail Group, Unipart Logistics, Tesco, Punch Taverns and Scottish & Newcastle.
Hunt said: “We are focused on continuing growth and Simon’s significant experience over the past 30 years in transport and logistics will add further strength to the UK Management team. Simon’s knowledge and experience in heading up transport and logistics operations for a range of major high street organisations will complement our focus on supporting growing customer fleets with the innovative solutions and back-up that they need to succeed in their own industries.”
