N Brown, the retail group behind brands such as JD Williams, Simply Be and Jacamo, has agreed a ten-year lease for a 95,000ft² unit at Hareshill Distribution Park in Heywood, Greater Manchester.
The unit, known as Link95, was previously occupied by McCormick, a manufacturer of spices and other food products.
N Brown describes its warehousing and distribution teams as ‘critical to [their] success’. It has existing logistics centres in Hadfield, near Glossop in Derbyshire and Shaw, Oldham, also in Greater Manchester.
The Manchester-based retail group says it ’employs over 1,000 people and stores more than 1.5 million ft² of stock’, picking, packing and dispatching ‘over 600,000 items every week’.
Ken Mellis, head of workplace, facilities and engineering at N Brown, said: “Our aim is to ensure that N Brown customers are provided an outstanding customer service proposition through our supply chain operations.
“Link95 meets our needs for the handling of our homeware product and, with unrivalled access to the motorway network in the North, as well as easy access to our head office in Manchester City Centre and our main distribution site in Shaw.”
Savills acted on behalf of N Brown and CBRE and Colliers were joint letting agents for Link95.
Nathan Khanverdi, associate director at Colliers industrial & logistics team, added: “Securing this new lease with no vacancy period underscores the exceptional quality of the building and the prime location in Heywood. We wish N Brown the very best in their new premises – it’s truly gratifying being involved in such a transaction with a major Manchester-based business.”
