Revenue rose by 6.5 per cent at Dachser last year to reach €5.64 billion. The company said shipments rose by four per cent to 78.1 million, while tonnage increased by 5.2 per cent to 37.3 million tonnes.
Dachser CEO Bernhard Simon said: “European exports remain our growth engine, in addition to solutions that intelligently combine overland, air, and sea freight. But mostly, our customers respect the fact that we consistently focus on quality.”
The company is stepping its investment programme. “Having invested €81 million last year, we will be investing around €125 million in 2016,” said Simon. “Some of this money will go toward information technology and technical equipment. But as in previous years, the lion’s share will be put into our European Road Logistics network where we will be building or expanding logistics facilities in Austria, France, Germany, and Poland.”
