The second day of the Robotics and Automation exhibition proved to be just as busy as the first as supply chain and logistics professionals took the opportunity to see the latest developments in the technologies that are set to change the industry.
There was particularly strong interest in collaborative robots, or “cobots”, which can work alongside people in a warehouse environment and the demonstrations of equipment attracted large audiences.
Industry leaders such a ABB and KUKA reported strong interest at the exhibition. There was also strong interest in the related systems and technologies on show.
The affordability of the next generation of robots was highlighted by Automata Technologies which has produced Eva, a collaborative robot for less than £5,000.
As on the first day, the seminars proved to be particularly successful with standing room only at some of the sessions, as visitors took the opportunity to hear first hand about technological developments and the opportunities that they are opening up in warehouse and logistics operations.
The Robotics and Automation exhibition took place at the Arena MK in Milton Keynes on 11th and 12th October.
After the first day of the event Tara Baker from KUKA Robotics said: “WOW what a first day. Today, KUKA launched our new trailer at the Robotics and Automation show down in MK, and I can honestly say, it is the best show I have ever attended. If you are in the market for any robotic or automated solutions, make sure you get yourself over to the show tomorrow!”
Henk Leerink, KUKA Robotics said: “The entire KUKA team was kept very busy engaging with a very large number of potential customers. What a splendid two days! I cannot recall a better event than this one.”
Tapani Tilus, vice president, head of Agilon business at Konecranes said: “Fantastic day with close to a hundred customer discussions today.”
