SEGRO has submitted plans for a 630,000 sq ft plus speculative warehouse on its 65-acre Kettering Gateway site, near Burton Latimer in the East Midlands.
The site has outline permission for 1.2 million sq ft of industrial and logistics space which was granted in 2018. The developer is currently building a unit for BUNZL which is due to complete in the summer.
The proposed speculative unit will see the development of a 636,867 sq ft warehouse facility with 25,000 sq ft of two-storey offices. The cross dock warehouse will have 18m eaves as well as 100 dock and eight level access doors. It will have 271 HGV and 601 car parking spaces.
The building will achieve a BREEAM ‘very good’ rating and will target an EPC A rating.
A planning statement said: ” It is anticipated that the development will act as a catalyst for further regeneration to create a number of new jobs and inject much needed investment into the local community.
A decision on the latest warehousing bid could be made by June. Letting agents for Kettering Gateway are Berrys, Prop-Search and CBRE.
