Siemens Logistics, Qatar Airways Cargo, and Qatar Aviation Services (QAS) have agreed to co-operate on the digitalisation of its cargo handling processes.
The three companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding, (MoU), to implement more digital technology including data analytics and predictive maintenance in their operations, with the aim of increasing operational efficiency.
Furthermore, the companies hope that this will have a positive impact on the sustainability of the companies’ cargo handling procedures while also improving health and safety.
Michael Reichle, Chief Executive of Siemens Logistics, is aware of the benefits of technology to modern cargo handling processes, saying: “Artificial intelligence, machine learning and senseful data usage are becoming increasingly important within airfreight handling”.
Guillaume Halleux, Chief Cargo Officer at Qatar Airways Group added: “Our aim at Qatar Airways Group is to further implement digitally advanced, innovative cargo solutions to ensure that all stakeholders benefit from an even more sustainable and seamless operating environment.”
