Worldwide Flight Services (WFS) has been awarded a domestic trucking contract to transport cargo to and from 18 different airports in the UK for Singapore Airlines.
WFS has been in partnership with Singapore Airlines since 2015, running the airline’s cargo handling operations at Heathrow and Manchester. It currently handles over 45,000 tonnes of cargo per year for Singapore Airlines.
This partnership has now been extended, with Singapore Airlines taking advantage of WFS’ road transport services. WFS will transport cargo between a network of UK airports, running overnight services most days of the week.
Jennifer Smith, WFS’ UK Commercial Director of Cargo and Ground Handling, said: “WFS is delighted to be extending its partnership with Singapore Airlines in the UK to include the airline’s regional transport requirements.”
She added: “The airline is already a major customer of our UK operations and this new contract will enable us to support Singapore Airlines’ continued growth in the UK market by giving its customers across the country fast and seamless access to its wide choice of passenger and freighter flights.”
