National and international courier Speedy Freight has today [16 October] announced the launch of Speedy Parcels: its “new tailor-made parcel service”.
Speedy Parcels will utilise Speedy Freight’s existing UK network to “offer businesses flexible collection times seven days a week”. It will work in partnership with several freight and parcel carriers offering domestic and international services.
The new service will handle goods in a range of shapes and sizes, “from packets to parcels, and goods classed as Irregular Dimensions and Weight (IDW)”.
Shellea Crosby, Commercial Director at Speedy Freight, will take the lead on this new launch. Crosby joined the company in 2022 from Tuffnells, where she was also Commercial Director.
She said: “We’re offering a tracked next-day or economy parcel delivery service throughout the UK and Europe, working in collaboration with a range of leading providers, which means we’re able to inject parcels directly into the chosen parcel carrier’s network.
“Speedy Freight can collect the consignments at a time and day that suits our client, providing customers with a stress-free process and a great way for businesses to consolidate their logistics.”
Furthermore, Speedy Parcels will integrate with e-commerce platforms including Amazon, eBay, Etsy, and Shopify.
Speedy Freight became independent from Eddie Stobart Logistics in July 2021, backed by private equity investors. In December 2022, the company reported 38.8% compound growth since 2007. It is this growth, Speedy Freight suggests, that has made its expansion into parcels possible.
Speedy Freight is shortlisted for the Customer Service Award at the 2023 Supply Chain Excellence Awards. You can find the full shortlist of nominees in all 26 categories here.
Now in their 27th year, the awards will take place on 9 November at the London Hilton on Park Lane. Click here to find out more about attending or sponsoring!
