A 170,000ft2 distribution centre in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, has been acquired by property investment firm St Modwen. The property has been fully let to UK delivery company Yodel.
The warehouse includes 158 dock level loading doors and 233 HGV parking bays, as well as office accommodation and a staff welfare facility.
It is located on the site of Hatfield Business Park, 22 miles outside of central London and with close links to the A1 and M25.
James Cooper, Head of Transaction at St Modwen Logistics, said: “There has been a long-term shortage of modern logistics space across many areas in the South East of England. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a high-quality, exceptionally located warehouse let to a leading UK business, and continues our growth in the highly competitive submarkets in and around London.”
The facility is the southernmost of Yodel’s three UK distribution hubs. The other two are in Shaw, in Greater Manchester, and Wednesbury, in the West Midlands.
