Lallemand Biofuels and Distilled Spirits has awarded Eddie Stobart a five year contract to distribute cream yeast to distilleries in Scotland.
Vic DeMelo, managing director at Lallemand’s UK production facility said: “We are thrilled about this new partnership which will see us offer an improved and more flexible service to meet all of our customers’ requirements. Eddie Stobart’s scale of network and infrastructure is a great fit for our business and we look forward to enjoying the benefits and possibilities of this new working relationship.”
The yeast is delivered in tankers to distilleries for the production of whisky. Lallemand will use Eddie Stobart’s food grade tankers with temperature maintaining insulation. The vehicles will also use telematics technology.
