Logistics legends John Harvey CBE and Richard Hunt CBE, will open the second day of the 2015 Logistics and Supply Chain Conference which focuses on supply chain excellence and what makes award winning supply chains.
Award winners speaking at the conference include Sainsbury’s, The Co-operative Food, and British Gas. Sainsbury’s will discuss its merchandise flows and the Co-operative Food will explain its reduced fuel consumption.
Harvey, co-founder and chairman of the Keswick Enterprises Group, holds more than half a century’s logistics experience having started his career in 1957. Hunt, who chairs the London Ambulance Service NHS Trust, has held senior positions at a number of logistics companies including EXEL Logistics, and was the international president of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.
Both Harvey and Hunt are members of the final senior judging panel at the European Supply Chain Excellence Awards and will offer their thoughts on the quality and innovation of the entrants in 2014, outlining what the judges saw in the winning submissions and offering tips for the future.
Alongside this, Sainsbury’s will explain how it revolutionised the way it flows general merchandise product into the UK from overseas sourcing locations, and the Co-Operative Food will discuss how its has reduced fuel consumption by 1.2m litres with 32m fewer miles driven.
