Confectionery company Swizzels, which makes Refreshers, Love Hearts and Parma Violets, has had two of Union’s high-speed Bulldoors fitted at its Derbyshire warehouse.
It required the doors to help maintain its exacting hygiene standards by acting as a pest control measure when the doors are in operation.
The doors, which feature a Swizzels logo on the blades, are activated by radio control systems that are mounted onto the company’s forklift trucks.
Tony Bartley, building services manager at Swizzels, said: “Maintaining excellent hygiene standards is of the upmost importance in the confectionary industry and Union’s high speed doors will help us achieve our targets during peaks times, when forklift trucks are coming in and out of the warehouse.”
Union’s Bulldoor opens at approximately 1.6m per second making it suitable for for high use external openings. It also employs Union’s ‘Crash-Out’ and ‘Auto-Reset’ damage protection facility which ensures the door remains operable if the heavy duty steel composite bottom beam is hit by a vehicle.
