The shortlist for the Supply Chain Excellence Awards 2019 has just been revealed – and it makes impressive reading. This year we received more than 130 entries from major retailers and manufacturers, not just in the UK, but from all around the world.
The Awards have grown continuously since they were launched in 1997 to become the benchmark for supply chain best practice.
In the past two years alone, the number of companies entering has risen by 50 per cent, reflecting the value placed on them by major corporations globally.
To become an Overall Winner is to join an illustrious band. Last year, Superdry joined this group which also includes: MAN, Jaguar Land Rover, Dell, Pepsi-Cola, Danone, Telefónica, Waterstones and Primark.
In September, all the shortlisted companies are invited to make a presentation to one of our judging panels, made up of senior supply chain professionals.
It’s a challenging process. Entrants have one hour to impress the judges, who will ask some very searching questions.
For me, it’s a real privilege to listen to the presentations and I am always impressed by ingeniousness, inventiveness and sheer will to win shown by the supply chain teams.
It’s a real achievement to make the shortlist – congratulations to all the companies getting through to the next stage.
