Torque has acquired a 380,000 sq ft distribution centre at Wakefield, which was formerly owned by La Redoute.
Head of operations Stewart Firth said: “With Wakefield as part of our site portfolio, Torque now has over 1.8million sq ft of UK warehousing, employing over 800 people, where we can offer a full range of services including imports and exports, end to end service, processing and pick and pack.”
As part of the deal, Torque will TUPE more than 100 existing employees. The site is equipped to handle both boxed and hanging products and features automated sortation, three large mezzanine floors and high bay including 15 metre eaves.
