The Tour de France has extended its transport contract with XPO Logistics for a further six years.
XPO will use 45 trucks to provide logistics support to event organiser Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO), moving some 400 tons of equipment more than 3,400 kilometres.
The cyclists will depart from Brussels on July 6 and finish on the Champs-Élysées in Paris on July 28. XPO will transport materials such as barriers, podiums, gates, course paint, furniture, audio-visual equipment and partners’ merchandise.
Laurent Lachaux, sales and partnerships director at ASO, said: “We know we can count on XPO as a trustworthy partner for this challenging event. XPO’s outstanding track record with the Tour and their expertise with complex logistics are key for everyone involved.”
