Toys R Us has today launched its return to the UK as an e-commerce business, selecting Amethyst Group as their logistics provider.
The toy retailer was liquidated in 2018 after filing for bankruptcy the previous year. Now it intends to take advantage of e-commerce growth by returning as an online store in time for the holiday season.
Director of Toys R Us UK, Mike Coogan, said: “We are delighted to be back up and running within the UK market and have chosen Amethyst to work with us on the eFulfilment part due to their extensive experience and expertise”
Amethyst Group’s have over 30 years experience working with major brands in the toy sector including Leapfrog, Ravensburger, and Bandai.
Allan Fosbrook, the group’s Sales Director, is “thrilled” to be partnering with Toys R Us, a company that he describes as a “national treasure”.
The operation will be run from Amethyst’s facility in Wellesbourne, Warwickshire. It has a three-tier mezzanine floor totalling 80,000ft2 and space for 47,000 pallets.
