Global real-estate developer and investor Trammell Crow Company has secured planning permission from Sheffield Council to redevelop the former Betafence site in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.
The application has been secured in just three months and will see demolition start immediately at the 20-acre site to replace the existing 455,750ft2 building with a 367,151ft2 Grade A logistics facility.
Construction is due to start in Summer 2022 and completion is due in early 2023. CBRE acted as planning consultants on the project and Chetwoods were appointed as the architect.
The new Class B8 storage and distribution unit is expected to create 450 new jobs. The site on Shepcote Lane is just 0.5 miles from Junction 34 of the M1 motorway.
