Global property developer Trammell Crow Company has submitted a planning application to Rochdale Borough Council to develop a site in Manchester Road Heywood.
The application is for a 27.8 acre site upon which a 45,755ft2 logistics facility will be developed across three units, which will be used for storage and distribution, as well as office space.
The developer has worked with Rochdale Borough Council and local stakeholders for the pre-application process and submitted a plan that seeks to re-profile the site.
Once developed, the site could create around 600 jobs when completed.
390 workers are expected to deliver the construction over 13 months. The project is targeting BREEAM Excellent certification and will deliver ‘increased biodiversity’ to the site though an extensive landscape plan.
The site is located within one mile of junction 19 of the M62, four miles of three major motorways (the M60, M62 and M66), and an hour’s drive of the port of Liverpool, Manchester Airport, Liverpool John Lennon Airport, and Leeds Bradford Airport.
Mike Forster, Head of UK Logistics at Trammell Crow Company said: “Following the acquisition of this site earlier this year, we’re delighted to reach this milestone to begin the transformation of the site.”
