APC member Transplus has opened a new operational depot in Andover, increasing its capacity by 25%.
As well as increasing operational capacity, the company has also increased the number of drivers it employs by 25%.
This increased space will allow the company to continue its overnight parcel collection and delivery service offerings to local businesses; particularly its specialist fragile, security and liquid services, which will allow local SMES to make use of its national network capabilities.
Vinny Hughes, director at Transplus, said: “Our new depot allows us to continue to serve our customers across the Andover and Salisbury communities when SMEs continue to be of great value and importance.”
Jonathan Smith, chief executive at APC Overnight, said: “The new, larger depot will allow Transplus, a long standing member of the APC family, to continue to grow its relationships with SMEs across Hampshire.
“The ongoing national crisis has highlighted the strength and resilience of SMEs, and the sustained hard work of our colleagues at Transplus has enabled many local SMEs to continue to develop and thrive. We look forward to watching Transplus expand and support SMEs across Hampshire and the UK.
“This announcement comes just weeks after Bridgetime Transport, another APC member, doubled its parcel facility in Cwmbran to meet increased demand. This is a great sign of the burgeoning SME community across the UK, enabling The APC to serve SME customers in a time where SMEs are proving to be the backbone of the UK economy.”
