TVS Supply Chain Solutions is to open a 165,000 sq ft logistics facility in Barnsley. A distribution warehouse and call centre will be located on the site.
Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council supports the plans, which will generate 100 new jobs. The site will also house a logistics and distribution training centre.
TVS Supply Chain Solutions is to become its knowledge hub for supply chain and the region hub for the whole of Europe.
R Dinesh, managing director of Indian parent group TVS Logistics Services, said: “The UK is a highly successful investment destination for TVS Logistics. We are growing substantially in the UK and we will create another 500 jobs in the next five years as we grow our business here.”
TVS is also part of the Team Leidos consortium which won a huge contract with the Ministry of Defence. TVS will provide data management inventory management, procurement and product sourcing for the full range of MOD commodities including; food, clothing, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment and general supplies.
