Unipart Logistics has been awarded a three-year contract extension by Kimberly-Clark for the management of UK warehouse operations in Barrow, Chorley and Northfleet through 2022.
Currently, Unipart provides 200 employees to serve on Kimberly-Clark’s team. In Chorley and Northfleet, Unipart manages 120,000 pallets of finished goods in automated warehouses, fed by a cross dock operation in Barrow.
Claire Walters, chief commercial officer at Unipart Logistics, said: “In awarding the contract Kimberly-Clark recognised the unique value Unipart Logistics bring to them and their customers through digital innovation and a relentless focus on continuous improvement.”
Last month Unipart secured a five-year partnership with Selco Builders Warehouse to run its end-to-end supply chain in the UK. Unipart will also provide warehousing and distribution services from its 1 million sq ft distribution centre in Cowley, Oxford.
As part of the contract Unipart will store products and materials on behalf of Selco and deliver daily to Selco branches in dedicated, Selco-branded vehicles.
These ‘branch-friendly deliveries’ will see product picked and packed in a way that reflects specific branch layouts, improving efficiency and stock availability upon receipt in branch.
