Jeff van der Eems, CEO of United Biscuits said: “John has been instrumental in the transformation of the business since his arrival, particularly in our operations and in enabling our culture change programme. John will bring a different perspective to the supply chain which, I believe, will help take it to the next level in terms of talent development, operational excellence and our determination to make UB a great place to work for many years to come”.
Titmuss has been with United Biscuits since early 2013 as group HR director. has held HRD and senior operating roles with a global remit across FMCG, manufacturing and professional services sectors. Prior to UB, John was HR director of Hovis and Premier Foods Supply Chain.
He has also had a number of significant operational roles in his career before UB, including running all of UK service, logistics and technical operations for Novar (Honeywell) in the UK and running the central operations of the Indalex Aluminum Solutions business in North America.
Titmuss said: “As an HRD, it is rare to be able take on such a significant operational role, and I feel very privileged to be given this opportunity. I have been in manufacturing for most of my career, and over the last two years I have developed a great attachment to UB, our brands, our many and varied facilities and our people – all of whom are deeply committed to making great products. We have shown in recent times that we can face up to the ferociously competitive market in which we operate, and that we can both win and secure good quality jobs and careers for the long term. I am looking forward to the challenge of continuing that journey in my new role and to delivering on our ambitious future plans”.
