UPS has introduced faster ground connections from the UK to Switzerland, Poland, Czech Republic and the Baltic States cutting 24 hours from the delivery time for its standard service.
“While our fastest services will always be our suite of UPS express services, we have shaved a full day off our transit time in these areas for our most economical cross border service,” said Nando Cesarone, president of UPS Europe.
“UPS has committed to invest US$2 billion into its European network and infrastructure by 2019. This ground network upgrade is part of that investment and allows our European customers to reach new markets in a faster and more efficient way.”
According to UPS research, 58 per cent of online shoppers will abandon their cart if they think the delivery time is too long, so faster delivery times should improve customer satisfaction.
